Week 1 of 12

So, week 1 of my 12 week exercise/fitness regimen didn't go as well as I'd hoped... my motivation wasn't where it needs to be.. but today on day 8 I had a good healthy breakfast and a very good weights workout... let's do the math and put week 1 to bed (ah, to be 10 years younger.. I lost 29 pounds in 3 months then... I'd be happy to just shed 8 this time around...)

Okay, so in the right direction.. TVGal and I have agreed to two free meals for the week.. our enthusiasm for Monday's meal may have helped to sabotage me more than I'd like... which brings us to this week's "Stuff I like"...

Stuff I Like: Pasquini's Happy Hour - Highlands.

Look, I know people use superlatives a lot on the internet... but I'm pretty sure I can trot out the "Best Ever" moniker on this one... hear me out.. Pasquini's makes a damn fine pizza (great bread - still not my favorite in Denver... Marco's wins that battle, but still) and it's a nice space with those big garage door windows they can open on nice days and just enjoy Colorado's delightful weather while consuming a tasty adult beverage...

But why is it the "Best Ever Happy Hour" you ask? Fine, here's why... from 5:00-5:30pm Mon-Fri their slices of 'za are a dime.  Yep, 10 cents.

What's that? You aren't a fan of pizza?  Fine, their meatball sliders are also 10 cents.

One. Single. Dime.

And PBRs are 50 cents... and there are other specials as well including really good apps for 3 bucks...

But you could conceivably have 2 slices of pizza, 2 meatball sliders and 2 beers for $1.40.

Sorry, but that's the best deal I've ever seen... and we'll be there next Monday to partake once again....

Oh, at 5:30p the price "goes up" to 50 cents...

Saw "Thor" with TV's Matt the other day.... and I'm not going to lie... I thought it was pretty damn enjoyable.. TVGal and I made a resolution to see more films in theaters this year... my total sits at "1"...

I sold some photos to a midwest ad agency a few weeks ago for a very nice sum of cash... so I'm going to finally get an actual website for my photos from my proceeds shortly.. and I also needed a laptop or something like that for my "First Fridays" in the gallery I show at for people to pay using Paypal or the like (the gallery doesn't take Credit Cards)

So with the proceeds I bit the bullet, scoured Ebay and found a 1st Gen iPad for a ridiculously cheap price... didn't know what to think given all the conflicting info out there from the Pro and Con camps.. and yet I knew that Apple couldn't make them fast enough to sell them... and that Craigs List has basically become an iPad Fraud Scam site.. (Don't Buy Electronics On Craigs List Ever)

It came about 6 days ago and now that I've got it configured with the Apps I want and got my mail coming to it, photos on it etc..... I have to say...

It's. Fucking. Great.

The Instapaper App alone is worth the price of admission.  It has, in one week, changed how I consume information on the internet.

If Steve Jobs was here right now I'd kiss him on the cheek... and then prepare for the impending lawsuits.. but still..

Well done Apple....
