Fit as a fiddle...
Hanger 61 Ceiling light fixtures and other things....
______________
So I'm going to use this blog to motivate me for the next 12 weeks... ever since 2003 I've taken 84 days out of a year and done a pretty serious diet/exercise routine... Sure, I could do it year round... but I don't have that kind of discipline.. these 84 days are a nice "reset" for me... and each year I start at a lower spot thanks to the 3 months of working out religiously....
When I first did it 8 years ago I was starting at 224 pounds... My starting weight this go-around is 208... so I don't need to lose as much weight, but hopefully get a little muscle on my frame (which has always been hard.. I'm 6'5" and skinny everywhere but my belly... damn beer...).
So I'm shooting for 198 lbs and a reduction in body fat to under 20 percent... I'll do a weekly update as I average the weight loss each week... by putting the results on here I'm holding myself accountable... not that anybody reads this thing with any regularity :) But at least there will be a lot more updates here with stuff other than the exercise regimen as well.. in fact, let's start with "What TVGuy likes this week..."
____________
I've been berated by people I don't know who stumble across this collection of musings for being "too negative" and "very angry"... I just think being pissed off about something is easier minings for humor, but I see their point... so I'm going to try to throw some stuff out there that I like each week that I've come across both on the Internet and in Denver....
Stuff I Like: Website - Evernote.
As I get older, I want stuff on the web that actually makes my life better.. more organized, etc... and Evernote rocks in every way. You can put it on your phone too... and it all syncs wirelessly and it's Free. If you forget passwords to websites, or want to clip website articles into one place, or take pictures that you can then search text even if its in the picture!!, Evernote is for you... I use it almost daily.... and can't imagine my internet life without it... Simply, it kicks complete and total ass.
Stuff I like: Restaurant - Highland Tavern
When I go to Chicago occasionally (I'll be there this August) the thing I love the most about the local watering holes is the Garage Door Fronts, where they can roll up giant pieces of glass and let the beautiful summer just leak in to the space... more and more places are doing this, and Denver is no exception... and Highland Tavern has two giant door openings that just make Sunday Afternoons waaayy better... that alone would be enough to recommend the space, but something else elevates the restaurant/bar to a place that mere mortals fear to tread... and that is three words...
Homemade. Tater. Tots.
When TVGal and I saw them on the menu months ago and the associated 7 dollar price tag we thought Thanks, but no thanks... But after our waitress assured us they were worth it we ordered a batch.... and sweet Jesus were we happy with that decision. They are potatoes on steroids... criminally delicious and savory and fun and everything that is great about local eateries doing fun takes on things you would never ever consider modifying...
I'd say they are the best potatoes that exist on Earth, but Jason Sheehan's restaurant review of Blueacre Seafood in Seattle unearthed the Greatest Potato Dish Ever Created... the Potatoes Minneapolis... wow... I'm there.. would someone fly me to Seattle please??
See ya in a few....

The ones who give you hell about being too negative are just jealous, Grego. They just don't get it. :) Homemade Tater Tots???? And when are you heading to our neck of the woods?
