Running Diary tonight...

3 Hot Air Balloons... no need to break that photo down further, right?

_______

6:02pm: Welcome to the 62nd annual Emmys Awards.. we're at TV and HV's house.. opening sequence we thought was quite excellent.. well done.. anytime Amy Fay gets covered with pink slushee it's a win for America...

Jimmy Fallon... who knew?

6:13pm: Our first category, Supporting Actor in Comedy.. and our winner is someone I've never heard of, but yet selected correctly.... Eric Stonestreet.. 3 got it correct (only 9 entrants this year)...

6:14pm: Oven preheating for tonight's sponsor Totino's Pizza Rolls... Honorary TVChild Hollin is playing with Barbies alongside TVGal... every bit as cute as it sounds....

6:22pm: Stephen Colbert presenting an award for Supp Actress in a Comedy... wanted to take this time to say I've never seen his show. Ever. I feel bad about that...

6:23pm: Jane Lynch wins... HV inexplicably misses and now there are two perfect entries... the Best Drama Series is a big one tonight.. I've got Mad Men, many others Lost....

6:32pm: Guest Actors and Actresses have been preselected last week so everybody gets those right...

6:35pm: George Clooney bit with the Modern Family kills...

6:36pm: Jim Parsons wins for Best Actor in Comedy.... TVGuy still perfect.. Edie Falco my selection for Best Actress coming up.... and the Pizza Rolls going into the oven...

6:38pm: Betty White in a new movie... I worry that she's very underexposed... maybe a new agent or a publicist...

6:48pm: Edie Falco wins! Next up, perhaps Reality? (I've got Amazing Race) Pizza Rolls have to be close... yes, there's the buzzer!! Wait, now I'm told 2 minutes.. damn! Getting weak...

6:49pm: Top Chef wins! TVGal and I watch it all the time.. damn, my first miss..

6:50pm: TVChild Hollin announces that she has organic cereal for dinner, and to prove it brings us the box... I'm slightly confused..

6:51pm: Our 5,673rd Oprah commercial celebrating her last season.. thank god we can pat her on the back and make her feel good about herself... because she isn't rich and powerful enough... just glad we can help kiss your ass Oprah... oh, by the way.. you haven't changed the world. I know you think you have... but no... at the end of the day it was just a talk show. Sorry. I felt I had to tell you.... enjoy your billion dollars...

6:55pm: Pizza Rolls. Please stand by. I'll be back.

7:05pm: Aaron Paul wins for Best Supporting actor Drama.... didn't see that happening.... only Adrian Cruz gets it right, but he trails with three.. in fact, this feels like a good time for our first scoreboard update, brought to you by Toyota...

5: Megan
5: TV's Matt
4: Kevin, TV, HV
3: Kings, JH, AC

7:09pm: Saddest sentence in the english language... "Last Pizza Roll, who wants it?"

7:11pm: Supporting Actress... someone I've never heard of wins... TV gets that one (kinda jealous of his initials I've gotta say....) and moves to within one of the lead...

7:15pm: Bryan Cranston for Best Actor... I've hit a cold spell... we've got a tie in first... I'm now worried...

7:24pm: Guest Actor and Actress was also preselected so everyone gets those...

7:25pm: Onscreen Crawl: George Clooney in 17 minutes.. TVGal just looked at her watch.. should I worry?

7:27pm: TVChild Hollin is combing Megan's hair... the amount of cuteness cannot be measured by humankind...

7:31pm: We've decided that Jimmy Fallon is deceptively talented... excellent musical segment...

7:32pm: The sentence "Don't destroy my kisses" was just uttered by HV to TVChild Hollin... I don't know what that means... then again, I only have a cat....

7:35pm: The "Twitter" jokes sadly are kinda flat..

7:36pm: Krya Sedgwick wins best Actress? What???? Argh... my picks are as cold as the frozen mini-tacos going into the oven....

7:39pm: There is quite a rift in the room between TV and HV/TVGal about Kyra's appearance.. I'm choosing to stay neutral...

7:49pm: Ricky Gervais is about the funniest person on the planet... right?

7:51pm: Bucky Gunts wins an award... for something... I can't get past the name "Bucky Gunts".... and I'm guessing you can't either....

7:54pm: I can't believe "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" didn't win.. how do the Emmy voters not kick NBC in the shorts there? "Daily Show" wins... argh... time for our next scoreboard update, brought to you by Blackberry...

8:12pm: The last mini-taco goes to... TVGal, who grabbed it and ate it in less than the time it takes a neutrino to travel around the nucleus of an atom... you know if that's what neutrinos do... high school was a long, long time ago...

8:15pm: Our montage of dead celebrities is on.. while Jewel sings and eschews modern dentistry... I think Gary Coleman won the "most applause" award... but Brittany Murphy may have tied him...

8:19pm: They just ran a Jimmy Dean breakfast commercial after Jimmy Dean was in the Dead Celebrities Roll Call... I'm praying that was a coincidence... otherwise it was just creepy.... and yet tasty as I love a good breakfast sandwich..

8:27pm: Claire Danes wins Movie Best actress.. I finally get one right.. whew... (we've decided Ms. Danes has a terrific dress, great hair, minimal jewelry... well done...)

8:33pm: In conversation with TV I've learned that there is a word for "last two years".. "biennial"... I've decided there are too many words...

I'm amazed that anyone is still watching after the maudlin Jewel song. The voiceover when cutting to commercial should have been "For those of you who didn't slit your wrists, we'll be right back..."
