Emerald Lake in RMNPark...
______
It's almost Easter so what better time to talk about those sugary lil birds....

this from TVGuy Correspondant DL:
Thought you'd like this info about Peeps:
>>In 1953, it took 27 hours to create one PEEPS chick. Today, it takes six minutes.
>>PEEPS have been the #1 non-chocolate Easter candy brand for the past decade, even outselling jelly beans...
>>Over 1.2 billion MARSHMALLOW PEEPS are produced each year covering all holiday seasons. That's enough PEEPS to circle the earth twice..
>>These PEEPS Fun Facts are brought to you courtesy of a back of a box of PEEPS stuffed animals I'm sending to a friend for Easter...
All of these are noteworthy factoids about the innocuous candy treat... I'd like to add a few more though...
>>I despise PEEPS. I hate all things marshmallow... and no, I'm not being harsh with the word "hate" here... I'm sticking with Jelly Beans thank you very much...
I've thought of a few serving ideas for the little guys this Easter weekend when I'm over at the future InLaws...

>>They are not available just at Easter... oh no... as this graphic below illustrates... the evil is spreading...
Also, if you are wondering how PEEPS hold up under extreme cold, hot, low-pressure and other environments these fine folks at Peep Research have taken upon themselves to waste their time in a fun way....
Clearly though my friends have Easter on the brain.. and not in a good way... I received a picture from TVGal that showed the scalp and ears of a rabbit being munched on by a large dog with the caption "Happy Easter"... (no, I'm not showing it here...)
then hours later this came in from TVGuy Correspondant JV....
So I went out today and bought all the Easter candy that I like to eat. Is that wrong? I'm sure my kids would love marshmallow peeps, but I hate them. Not only do they taste bad, but they couldn't be stickier.
And why has the world turned its back on lime? All things green that used to be lime are now sour apple. Why is that? I love lime. I hate sour apple. I'm bitter about the whole thing.
--couldn't agree more... as always, Peeps are the devil...
as for the lime thing I sent a letter to the PR Department at Hershey's asking them this question on your behalf.
They have not responded... the mystery of "Lime vs. Sour Apple" may never be solved...
But this blog tackled the issue a few years back.. you are not alone....
_____
Men's Health Magazine released their lists for best and worst drivers yesterday...
Best drivers?
1. Des Moines, IA
2. Jersey City, NJ
3. New York City, NY
4. Younkers, NY
5. San Francisco, CA
Yep, makes no sense to me either... here are the "worst"...
1. Columbia, SC
2. St. Louis, MO
3. Greensboro, NC
4. Jackson, MS
5. Cheyenne, WY
No, I have no idea why "Men's Health" is releasing this list either...
______
Wait, yet another website devoted to these little "marshmallows of terror"... here you go if you aren't sick of the damn things yet...
______
I can't even begin to describe how many times I get a letter asking, no, pleading for more Hot Celebrity Gossip here at TVGuy... fine... I give in... here you go....
Britney Spears has called Kevin Federline ("K-Fed") her "biggest mistake"... but thanked him for her babies...
(I'll pause while you, like myself, contemplate how on earth Ms. Spears could quantify all of her mistakes and choose the "biggest"... a seemingly impossible task...)
Your divorce details...
>>A 2004 prenup called for K-Fed to get $250,000 for each year of their marriage, but Spears upped that figure to $500,000 to speed up the negotiations.
>>He receives half the proceeds from their Malibu mansion, which is on the market for $13.5 million.
>>Spears will pay $25,000 a month in child support for each of the couple’s two children until they reach 18. He also gets custody of the boys four days a week.
>>Federline gets to keep all the gifts Spears bought them during their marriage.
>>He’s forbidden from writing a tell-all about their marriage.
We'll be back on "Idiots who Reproduce" right after these messages...

Before we get to this week's new entertainment releases... Exhibit #2,932 of things I hate in the movie business...
Yes, I'm talking about movie posters or ads where the lead characters pull down their sunglasses part way... you know what I'm talking about... here's an example...

Why do I bring this up? Because in our workout room at my place of employment there are a few movie posters up to take up wall space... and the one I see mostly while doing my Incline Dumbbell Press is... well.. this...

I can't explain why I hate this so much... I just do...
But, with all things bad there must come something good... and that's where the new movie trailer for "Live Free or Die Hard" (Die Hard 4) comes in...
My friend Todd thinks it's a bit over the top... my friend Matt and I agree that its devishly good fun and we will both be at the premiere... if you wish to weigh in you can see it at TVGuy Video here....
New in Theaters This Week
>>"Grindhouse" (Kurt Russell, Rose McGowan); I normally enjoy Mr. Tarantino's work a great deal but there is something so sleazy looking about this film... well, I'm sure we'll rent it at some point... but I'm curiously not looking forward to it...
Rating (out of 100)
Rotten Tomatoes: 87
Metacritic: 78
Nat'l Society of Film Critics: 76
>>"The Reaping" (Hilary Swank, David Morrissey); Looks like I finished my "100 Worst Movies of My Lifetime" List just a little too soon....
"It's hard to believe that when God does reap his vengeance that it will be this boring..."
--Brian Tallerico, Underground Online
"The only way The Reaping could be worse is if Swank put on a bear suit and ran through the woods..."
--Willie Waffle, wafflemovies.com
Rating (out of 100)
Rotten Tomatoes: 07
Metacritic: 33
Nat'l Society of Film Critics: 00
New on DVD This Week:
>>"Volver" (Penelope Cruz); We had a heated discussion at work the other day about actors who sometimes are incredibly good-looking and other times wouldn't be given change if they were panhandling... Ms. Cruz was a polarizing celebrity indeed... "Vanilla Sky" clearly shows us that she can be delightful to gaze upon, while her accent turned many off to her delicate charms...
clearly I'm stalling as I have no idea what "Volver" is about and am too lazy to find out....
Rating (out of 100)
Rotten Tomatoes: 91
Metacritic: 83
Nat'l Society of Film Critics: 80
>>"Charlotte's Web" (Dakota Fanning); I really liked this book as a kid... nice to see that the movie is supposed to be pretty good... but being 43 years old.. well... I'll take a pass...
Rating (out of 100)
Rotten Tomatoes: 78
Metacritic: 68
Nat'l Society of Film Critics: 68
>>"The Good Shepherd" (Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie); There are no sheep in this film. Just wanted to clear that up....
Rating (out of 100)
Rotten Tomatoes: 56
Metacritic: 61
Nat'l Society of Film Critics: 68

If you hate peeps, you should check out peep jousting. :o)
Peep Jousting? I require more info please! :)
Google "peep wars" or "peep jousting." Or go to YouTube for some videos on it. I just posted a "war" video on my blog. And here's another: http://www.angelfire.com/biz2/SkyWatchers/askiajareel.MOV
We first saw it a few years ago. Seems to be more involved now...and very messy. :o)
